The Lincoln Group has partnered with a client in the Transportation industry in search of a Director of Fleet and Transportation Operations who will be responsible for leading all levels of the transportation operations (oversee fleet and sub-contractors operationally). The Director of Fleet and Transportation Operations will manage the technical maintenance and equipment specifications, including policies and procedures and overseeing mechanics practices. This role also manages all aspects of fleet and vendor management: preventative maintenance programs, routing and dispatching, vehicle management, reliability and regulatory compliance throughout the transportation services operation.

Compensation: Up to $150K/year, plus comprehensive benefit package, PTO and Paid Holidays
RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible for operational compliance with contractual transportation provisions
- Responsible for regulatory compliance – OSHA, DOT, CDC, DOL, and other governmental agencies
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating methods for improving cost, utilization, turnover, service and safety KPI’s for the entire fleet network
- Lead and manage the transportation department, to include setting goals/objectives, streamlining, and enforcing processes
- Monitors workflow and deployment of fleets to meet objectives
- Ensures routes are actively monitored by the appropriate dispatch staff
- Aims for routing staff to achieve a minimum of 8 trips or 50 billable miles per shift in a fleet vehicle and to achieve all operating vehicles moving each day
- Evaluates business needs and standard operating procedures of the dispatchers, drivers, and sub-contractors
- Analyzes data and identifies trends from system data
- Analyzes maintenance processes, makes decisions or actions needed and implements new procedures to ensure performance of fleet inventory is efficient and within budget
- Implements and executes preventative maintenance programs and reliability/regulatory compliance throughout the specified locations and manages sub-contractor accounts
- Provides organizational tools necessary to ensure efficient, timely and quality-driven delivery of maintenance services throughout the company
- Works with IT to manage, develop and implement new software solutions/technology to streamline practices and improve efficiency
- Routinely conducts on-site visits and inspections to ensure Fleet Management, staff, and sub-contractors are compliant
- Develops an annual operating budget and manages licensing requirements in service areas
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass criminal background and drug screenings
- Ability to pass government exclusion list at time of hire and monthly thereafter
- Bachelor's degree or 9+ years of related Fleet and Transportation operation experience
- 5+ years of related Fleet and Operations Management experience
- Knowledgeable of California Fleet Regulations
- Must take initiative and have a proven record of independent decision making
- Excellent customer service, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), collaboration, influencing, facilitation, and decision-making skills
- Expert understanding of MS Office Suite specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities
- Ability to successfully motivate a team and maintain employee involvement while driving change
- Experience with social media management/content creation and knowledge of SEO and digital marketing best practices, preferred
