Lathe Operator

The Lincoln Group has partnered with a client in the metal forging fabrication industry in search of a Lathe Operator for Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) to join their team on a direct-hire basis! This position will set up and operate various large CNC vertical lathes running large components. The ideal candidate will understand cutting conditions, offsetting, and recognizes tool wear.

Type of Hire: Direct Hire

Location: Oxnard, CA

Work Schedule: Choice of 3 shifts, with potential for overtime

Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour DOE

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

·Work closely with Production Supervision to maintain output per production schedule.

·Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Machine Programmers on proving out new machine programs.

·Clear communication with other Machinists and Maintenance staff between shifts regarding the machined part status and other machine information.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

·Familiar with machining on VTL’s large parts up to 80” in diameter and 90” in height.

·Significant VTL machine setup and operation cutting copper, aluminum, steel, titanium, and other alloys for Space/Aerospace applications.

·Must be proficient in reading Engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
